LETTER TO THE UNKNOWN series
In my latest series, "Letter To The Unknown," I explore the intricate interplay between image-making and diverse forms of communication, such as abstract symbols, linguistics, and sensory experiences. I am particularly fascinated by the evolution of hieroglyphic and logographic scripts, tracing their origins back to drawings and pictorial representations, which offer insights into how our ancestors perceived their surroundings.
In creating many pieces from this series, I embraced an intuitive drawing process at the beginning stage, allowing the natural movements of my hands, arms, and body to guide me. As the pencil's graphite left its mark on the canvas, intricate shapes gradually emerged, blurring the lines between abstraction and familiarity.
In my quest to illuminate specific compositions and reveal their interconnected relationships, I employ vibrant gradients and mesmerizing transparency to infuse life into the imagery. The process often unfolds with an almost effortless, intuitive flow, as if I were a vessel receiving inspiration from an unknown source—a communicator aiding in the composition of a "letter" deciphering the enigmatic symphony that weaves between the tangible and the intangible, the visible and the concealed, the familiar and the mysterious.
