Mind Map
Mural and acrylic installation
For this project, I wanted to create a work that reflects my working process, which is very similar to mind mapping. The work normally begins with an abstract idea. During the stage of researching, I constantly sketch to help myself understand and organize information. I then move on to digital tools like Illustrator and Photoshop to push the design further. By breaking the shapes apart and merging multiple ones into something new, I constantly search for balance and possibility. For this particular work, I use geometric shapes and organic curves to form a rhythmic composition that carries a sense of playfulness and curiosity. Both visually and conceptually, the work reflects a process of transformation from scattered randomness to organized mapping. All the elements eventually come together to form a larger community. Each piece is unique while it relates to and interacts with the rest of the artwork as a whole.
